Seller Terms of Service

You must be aged 18 or over, a UK resident, and the legal owner of any item you list. You must have a valid Stripe account connected to your Built Bezel profile to receive payouts.

Built Bezel charges a platform fee of 3% of the sale price + 20p per transaction, deducted from proceeds before payout. There are no listing fees.

Stripe's payment processing fees are separate and deducted by Stripe. Built Bezel absorbs Stripe fees and does not pass them on — your payout is based on price minus Built Bezel's 3% + 20p only.

Example: A £1,000 watch — your payout is £969.80 (£1,000 − £30.20 fee).

We reserve the right to update the fee structure with 30 days' notice to registered sellers.

Each listing must:

• Accurately describe the item's brand, model, condition, and any known defects.
• Include clear, recent photographs of the actual item (not stock images).
• State whether original box and/or papers are included.
• Not misrepresent the watch's age, provenance, or service history.

You must not list items on our Prohibited Items list. We reserve the right to remove any listing without notice.

• You must ship promptly after a sale — within your stated dispatch time.
• Provide a valid tracking number and update shipping status in your account.
• Package items securely and insure shipments appropriately for the item's value.
• Respond to buyer queries within 48 hours.

This section is important. Please read it carefully.

You are solely responsible for declaring any income from sales to HMRC and paying any applicable taxes. Built Bezel does not provide tax advice.

• Trading Allowance: If your total income from online selling (including all platforms) exceeds the HMRC trading allowance (currently £1,000 per tax year), you must register for Self Assessment and declare this income.
• Capital Gains Tax: Profit from selling personal possessions (chattels) worth over £6,000 may be subject to Capital Gains Tax. Watches are considered “wasting assets” under HMRC rules if they have a predictable useful life not exceeding 50 years — most mechanical watches are exempt. Seek professional advice if uncertain.
• VAT: If your annual taxable turnover exceeds the VAT threshold (currently £90,000), you must register for VAT. If you are VAT registered, you must inform us.

DAC7 / Digital Platform Reporting: Built Bezel is required under the OECD's DAC7 model rules (enacted in the UK from 1 January 2024) to collect information about sellers and report it to HMRC. By selling on the platform, you consent to us sharing your name, address, date of birth, national insurance number (if provided), and sales data with HMRC. We will contact you separately for required documentation.

Funds are held in escrow until the buyer confirms receipt. Once confirmed, we initiate a transfer to your connected Stripe account. Funds typically arrive within 2–7 business days.

If the buyer does not confirm receipt within 14 days of the confirmed delivery date, we will release payment automatically.

If a buyer opens a dispute, we may freeze escrow funds pending investigation. We will contact both parties for evidence. Our decisions under the dispute process are final within the platform, subject to any statutory rights.

We may suspend or permanently ban seller accounts that: repeatedly receive negative feedback, list prohibited items, commit fraud, breach these terms, or are subject to law enforcement requests.

Built Bezel's liability to sellers is limited to fees collected in the 3 months preceding any claim. We are not liable for fluctuations in watch values, buyer disputes made in bad faith (though we will investigate), or delays caused by third-party services.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
