Prohibited Items Policy
The following items may not be listed on Built Bezel under any circumstances. Listings in breach will be removed immediately and the account may be permanently suspended.
1. Counterfeit and Replica Watches
It is a criminal offence under the Trade Marks Act 1994 to sell counterfeit goods in the UK. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards:
- Watches sold as genuine that are counterfeit or replica.
- Replica watches that imitate the appearance of genuine brands, even if described as “homage” or “replica”.
- Watches with counterfeit dials, movements, or cases fitted to genuine parts.
- Any watch misrepresenting its brand, model, or movement.
We report suspected counterfeit listings to the relevant brand's anti-counterfeiting team and, where appropriate, to Trading Standards.
2. Stolen Goods
Selling stolen property is an offence under the Theft Act 1968 and the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002. You must be the legal owner of any item you list.
We cooperate fully with law enforcement and the police. If we suspect an item is stolen, we will remove the listing, freeze any associated funds, and share information with the relevant authorities.
We strongly encourage you to check the Immobilise and The Watch Register databases before listing a watch.
3. Sanctions-Listed Items and Individuals
Built Bezel complies with UK financial sanctions administered by the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI). We do not permit transactions involving:
- Individuals or entities on the UK Sanctions List.
- Items subject to trade sanctions (e.g. luxury goods to Russia under the Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 as amended).
Transactions that appear to involve sanctioned individuals will be blocked and reported to OFSI.
4. Anti-Money Laundering
High-value watch transactions may trigger obligations under the Money Laundering Regulations 2017. Watches sold for £10,000 or more in a single transaction may require enhanced due diligence. We reserve the right to request proof of funds and/or identity verification for high-value transactions.
5. Other Prohibited Items
- Watches with illegal modifications (e.g. watches using restricted radioactive materials such as tritium in unlicensed quantities).
- Items subject to CITES restrictions (certain vintage watches with ivory or tortoiseshell components).
- Listings that are not genuine watches (e.g. watch accessories listed in the watches category to game search results).
- Items the seller does not own or has no right to sell.
6. Reporting Suspected Violations
If you see a listing you believe violates this policy, please report it using the flag button on the listing page or email hello@builtbezel.com with the listing URL and your reason.
